Another SNP U turn, so many they are dizzy
There was today however a wee sign of another SNP U turn. When asked about tram line 3 and support for it, the Council Leader suggested that the SNP were "persuaded of the business case..." I think we should be told if this really is another Damascus Road conversion!

It’s consistent with Stewart Stevenson’s new position, and there’s no doubt in my mind that there’s tremendous “bang for the buck” in phases 1b, 2 and 3. So this is one particular U-turn which I think should be welcomed.
Stewart Stevenson has always been a tram fan but then his great uncle used to run the trams in Edinburgh. And you are right, this falls into "thank God they've seen the light" category of U turns!

About Me
I was elected to the City of Edinburgh Council in 1999. After 7 years of being very heavily involved in Education, I was elected Council Leader in August 2006 and from May 2007 until June 2008 was Labour Group leader when I returned to the backbenches
I am ordained in the Church of Scotland but I don't have a parish. Instead I am the Secretary of the Church of Scotland's Church and Society Council.
I am an Honorary Research Fellow of the University of Glasgow and an Honorary Fellow of Edinburgh University. I am married with two children, I am a member of the Iona Community and I enjoy sports though mostly as an armchair critic.
