Where we are and where we will be

Where we are and where we will be
The idea of Edinburgh is a combination of place, soul and symbolic leadership of a nation

Is there no end to this man's idiocy

It says something that shoes were thrown at President Bush at his press conference. What is even more worrying however, is Bush's response, (see video in the link above), where he says "so what the guy threw shoes at me" As the piece says, the soles of shoes and of feet are the most extreme of insults. To compare it to heckling at a political rally or people gesticulating at him when he drives past is to, as is so often the case with the 43rd president, utterly miss the point. No wonder the world is a seriously less safe place than it was when he took office.

Well said. If only your own party hadn't stood by him every step of the way.

Thanks for this

Its a sad fact that the leadership of the party thought that they could influence him by staying close to him and they failed to do so. Some of the rest of us were less convinced of the strategy a long time ago

I don't doubt your personal views, but when you go into war and kill with someone the excuse that you are trying to influence them no longer washes.

I agree, and I think at the very least bush could have been forced to go to the UN by a british pm who said that was his price of support but he didn't and that will be his legacy...
