What Future for the "Commie Pool"?!

After a morning at the domestics of family life, we all went swimming at the “Commie Pool” (the Royal Commonwealth Pool or RCP).

I still remember the first time I went there as a boy in the 70s. It just seemed an amazing place.

Not so today. Despite Edinburgh Leisure's best efforts, its tired and in need of much more than a lick of paint. I fear that whatever the new administration will not have any way of delivering the refurbishment the RCP needs for Edinburgh to play it part in the 2014 Commonwealth games.

Although there was much protest to our plans earlier this year, (see here for those plans) at least some of which was the consequence of us not consulting as we should have, (see here for my comments at the time) those plans at least stacked up financially and would have given the city more facilities of a higher quality including a refurbished RCP. I do not see the SNP/LibDem administration delivering anything like that.
